Olde Armortek M4 Sherman

Post by RC_BobM »

A few pics on this forum of my old M4 Sherman. I've been tinkering on this project for going on 18 years now!

May be a repeat if you saw it on Armortek forum.

Final details added to Sherman. Tool straps using ARMORPAX buckles, names, numbers using 3D printed masks. These work surprisingly well - with two tricks required. Apply light coats with airbrush and print mask so that smooth side goes against the hull (using textured plate, print upside down). Can spray paint apply too much paint and it bleeds, but airbrush perfect - no touch up!

I normally don't think Shermans are very interesting, but this model is so full of well made detail that it's a pleasure to look at closely. :D

Bjorn - I completely understand. I went off the 3D printing deep end myself a few years ago. Its fun what you can make. I've kinda come back full circle to heavy metal models at the moment.

Best regards,
Bob
