With constantly drawling mouth I have in silence been looking at the latest photos,
and this magnificent PzIV of yours is probably the finest 1:6th rc tank I have ever seen.

Thanks for all the nice comments! I really appreciate it. Chris, the funny thing is that when the weather is nice, I'm more inspired to be in the shop working on the tanks.

I'm quite happy with where the Panzer IV is and the project is getting closer to completion. Remaining parts to design and have made(some are more of a priority then others)

-Turret vent interior and armor cover(Ausf G-H variant).
-Turret side doors(complete with pistol port and correct, detailed, scale vision ports and handles)
-Spare track links with hollow guide/horns
-Commander's cupola(accurately detailed interior/exterior and functioning armor covers)
-External Air Filters

After that, it's all Tiger 1. Well....mostly all Tiger 1.

A video I took the other day. The schurzen are a bit sloppy and can be lined up but I didn't do so before I filmed this.

Today I wired up the traverse motor and tested it's controller and all went well. Only need to do some final wiring to the secondary battery with a quick-disconnect plug between the turret and hull and that's done. After that, it will be the secondary electronics which include MG movement and crew movement as well as driver's vision port open/close.

That and the detail parts mentioned above and it will almost be ready for camo.

My friend, your postings are massive inspiration for me.
Most 1:6th rc tanks look good at a distance but even seen under a magnify glass yours look stunning

Thanks everyone for the interest and nice comments.

Wired up the controller for the turret rotation and did a few quick tests. Here's a boring video of it in action! LOL This was at full speed and seems a bit slow so I'm not sure what to do there. It'll do for now though.

Hi everyone

More work with secondary electronics. The bow MG and all crew movement will be on one switch and all independently random movement. The Driver's vision port is opened and closed using a switch on the transmitter.

A short video. The driver's head will move as in the video but he will be placed lower in his seat and the MG needs to be worked on for a smoother movement but it's good to have everything wired and in position.

I know very little about the P4, but the turret on the Tiger took a full minute to make a 360. This seems to be on par with that - possibly very realistic. Mine is way too fast, but then someone alerted me that the turret is connected to a speed controller, so mapping it to a joystick instead of a switch made it possible to choose the speed. I like realistic speeds, but sometimes even I get a little impatient...

When bragging about the hobby among colleagues and friends, your P4 (and tiger...) is a very good reference on how far it is possible to push things.

They just drop their jaws on what they hear. I do the same with what I see. And feel a great urge to improve my vocabulary - I really am, literally, out of words...

Thanks. It's funny because my brother who is knowlegable in the way of WWII German armor told me the turret speed looks like a Tiger 1. I have to say that now my Panther's traverse speed looks too fast. :?

I know this is probably old news for most everyone but with the Panzer IV getting closer to a completed state, I am amazed at how BIG the Panther looks next to it. So decided to make a quick comparison video. I'll be filming some more of them rolling together soon.
