Hi cahlfors I like very much the work of detail you have done on the commander's cupola and the sprockets. A thought about the smoke. Are we sure our tanks need it? How much? I discussed this question here ( http://freeforumzone.leonardo.it/discussione.aspx?idd=9764548 ) . The title means " Is the s...

Hi Kent , hi All. The work on my Panther did no have any important progress :( because of that I have not updated my thread. Now I need some details before asking a friend of mine to do some works for me (he is the same friend who made -ex novo- the armoured semicircle covers for the gear case). So ...

I really like tanks and I know something about the Panther owing to the Kent's posts but I have only a superficial knowledge about the other tanks and AFV in general. Nevertheless I apreciate very much people who looks at the particulars so I enjoy the work you have done. Oh yes, it is only a little...

Cheers

Many thanks for the explanation. I am very ignorant , I never did any "mechanical" work before getting the Panther so it is a surprise for me to know there are different cutting angles for different material. Next time I buy a tool I will specify the material I am working. P.S. I looked at your web ...

WD-40 very well ... Every day is good for learning something new. :!: Oooohhh yes, it is obvious alcohol and smoking are a dangerous couple  nevertheless repetita juvant (i.e. it is always useful to repeat the concepts :thumright: ) . I understand "Aluminium drilling = High RPM", but what do y...

Hi Peter Yes, the drill often brake just as it punctures trough the aluminium cover plate not trough the aluminium hull plate. What it is difficult to understand for me is I have got the same behaviour -more or less - during the work. The same high RPM, the same pressure on the drill, I moved the dr...

Hi cahlfors
I agree with you , that is a very annoying kind of work.
I will try to remove the tip. Otherwise I will follow your suggestion.

Kind regards

Kent suggested me to add an extra threaded hole on the armoured semicircle cover for a second bolt to fit the cover stronger to the hull http://i25.tinypic.com/9qco75.jpg So I drew the shape of the cover on the inner side of the hull http://i35.tinypic.com/20pq4yh.jpg http://i33.tinypic.com/2cpqb74....
